Solo Trip a Success
Well, today Germaine and I return from a solo trip to Houston. We drove with a friend, and germaine felt like she got royal treatment since she rode in the back seat--up on the seat. It was a small car and she would have had trouble riding for three hours in the floorboard. We had to coax her onto the seat, so I am hoping this hasn't changed her mind so that she always expects the seat--I don't think it wil though.

We stayed in the hotel we stayed in when David travel with us about three weeks ago, and Germaine remcalled a lot about how to get to the relief area etc. She was very well behaved in the meetings, and did stick her head out into the center of the square of tables and look around at everyone--they thought it was quite cute.

I am a little worried about Germaine as she has had accidents when e walk around the park, usually in the same place. I plan to call Guide Dogs to ask their advice. At first I believe it was because she had an infection, but the later times I don't think that was the case.

Germaine was so very happy to get home this afternoon. She ran back and forth between James and David wagging her tail at top speed.

During the trip a group of us walked over to the Galleria shopping center probably about six to eight blocks. Germaine loved it, especially the walk back when it was cooler. Everyone was surprised at how young she is and how short a time she has been with me. People at this meeting were guide dog savy so didn't ask to pet her. In the mall however one guy just came up and almost hugged her. I got to explain why that was a bad idea.

I plan to post about every week now, catching folks up on our activities and antics.
